hi gang:
dan has a compaq 486 laptop that has win98 -- and it seems to have hosed
much of his functionality (like being able to print and fax). can't
reinstall it cause he doesn't have the CD with him. can't reinstall win95
cause he doesn't have the CD with him. am wondering perhaps if this is
because the win98 version came from asia (read, pirated software?).
am thinking of installing NT 4.0 -- can i do this 'over' Win98 w/out having
to wipe the HD (since i also don't have install disks for Office97 and
other programs)? good idea? bad idea?
any suggestions appreciated [other than linux, i'm already talking to him
about that].
