had a situation like this pop up on me just yesterday.   one of the
pin^H^H^Hpeople i'm supposed to be doing tech support for wanted a SSL form
to handle credit cards, but wanted the CC#s emailed as cleartext to the
user.

to euphemize horribly: i didn't like that plan.

editing out a rather loud epic, the upshot was that i told them to go buy a
copy of commercial PGP.   i fired up the web browser & went to the company
site (www.pgp.com) and clicked my way to the page for the appropriate
product with half a dozen execs peering over my shoulder.

it took a bit of explaining to convince them that the line:
