Frank - on what basis are you making this assessment? PC Magazine?
Surveys? Stuff in the press "down under"?
How much is a result of MS "mkting hype"?

Concur with Frank on the OS -- HPUX is used widely here in Boeing -
Solaris less so. Linux? Nada.
On a related note -- the Gartner group recently did an analysis of
Apache -- which was pretty well done for a consulting firm that tends to
support commercial software.
