Being a Debian Linux user, I have found out a few thing myself.. The
ex-leader of the development of Debian is Bruce Perns.. who works at
Pixar. The new leader of the group lives in England and works for a major
firm there.
I know a few of the debelopers work for such giants at IBM, INTEL, one
actually works at Microsoft though I think he bowed out since I havn't
seen any of his emails anymore on the debian developer lists.
If you know how and where to look, I think one would find that a linux
presence is greater than one would orignally think.
The job I am taking in florida has 2 server, one is Linux the other is NT,
they are already predicing adding a second Linux server and upgrading the
orignal. The NT server is there if the client wants ASP mainly.
Any more, there are quite a few servers that at Linux bassed because the
cost of a fully fuctioning server in NT or UNIX is alot more than the
price of a computer.

P.S. Since I am rambling ...
Check out your local software stores, WaldenSoftware here has to linux
software packages, not the books.. but the Actuall OS in a computer
software box .. and is sitting right next to the Windows 95 upgrades. The
other box is full of utilities for linux.. such as NS, Gnuscape, Wget and
other usefull tools that don't come with the OS.
The linux version is RedHat, asking price on the box was 40$ the other was
20$.
I asked the salesman how the sales were and he said it is about 1 copy
every 3 days where as 95 he said was 2 a month or so there.
