My most consistent problem since installing 8.5 has been ATM Deluxe, which
Adobe hasn't provided an upgrade patch for. It regularly decides on its own
to shut down fonts. VERY annoying. And does some other weird stuff. If you
have problems with it, check Adobe's tech support pages. If there's no
patch forthcoming soon, I'm switching to Suitcase.
On the whole, my monitors have behaved better on 8.5 than on 8.1, but there
still not perfect. 8.1 used to regularly swap my primary and secondary
monitor positions, putting my small secondary monitor on the left of the
big monitor instead of the right, but that annoying silliness seems to have
stopped. I ran into some problems with screen refresh in Quark and had to
change some preference to fix it. Can't remember what exactly it was, but
if you have problems I can ask Dave.
