Kathy,

I recently turned off Java support in my browser and found that surfing the
web became much more productive (faster page loading and fewer crashes at
sites that use Java applets). So much for the massively overhyped use of
Java (at least for client-side applets). The problem is that clients
believe all the hype and think their consultant is an idiot for
recommending against the use of Java applets (plus they usually have at
least one friend or relative who knows everything about the web and also
thinks that Java is the solution to all the world's problems) :-(
