Given the choice between NT and 98, I would absolutely pick NT. The only
reason I wouldn't would be due to a RAM limitation. I found NT swapped to
disk more than I wanted with 64mb RAM when running Photoshop and a bunch of
other things. 128mb and it pretty much never swaps. Then again, I get
impatient with ANY diskswapping at all. 32mb RAM limitation? Use 98.
NT will not have the resource problems that 98 will have. You'll be able to
run more things at once and if any of them crash they will not take the
whole system down. Brett mentioned he's had NT running for like 3 days
without a reboot, I've run it for a week or more without rebooting.
Actually, almost every reboot I do stems from Outlook or IE starting to act
freaky...perhaps because they're more tightly tied to the OS than other
apps. I can't remember any other apps causing systemic weirdness that made
me want to reboot...or refusing to run again after they crashed and I
stopped any hung processes.
