I found A topic in the Cyrus mailinglist where there seems to be a simmilar
case. I have copied it below:

Sounds like saslauthd and Cyrus IMAP are looking for the saslauthd socket at
different places or the permissions on the path to the socket are preventing
Cyrus IMAP from connecting.
