Inadvertently adding such space is way too easy, and having to
manually remove it (even when using some sort of editor script,
which one may forget to run)
This is one of the many reasons that line-end whitespace was not part
of the style guide. I don’t recall any discussion of the pros and cons
of adding it.
I suggest not standardizing line-end whitespace rules.
