If anyone would like Brendan Duddridge's JNIWrapper, let me know. The wocode link is dead.

In order of speed (fastest to slowest):

JNI CoreImage/ImageIO
JNI ImageMagick
system call ImageMagick
Java2D

Java2D is easiest, but it's DOG slow. If you don't have any performance requirements (or if you aren't dealing with large images), it's the path of least resistance.

I use a JNI wrapper around OS X's CoreImage/ImageIO ... It kicks the butt (by at least an order of magnitude and sometimes more) of any other method on OS X.

Hi!

Just to know, what library do you use to manipulate images (getting X and Y size, resizing, etc)? Do you use the standard Java stuff, or anything else better/faster?
