"Real project"? What do you define as "real project"? Since web.py was used to run Reddit as well as various search engines to smaller sites, that statement makes no sense.
If you're interested in contributing to the project, feel free to submit patches, and perhaps with enough high-quality patches, you'll become one of the core developers and do something about this "development activity" issue. Of course with keeping in mind, that quantity doesn't spawn quality. And :"good community support" doesn't sound too good, either. PHP has this "good community support", and 90+% of the applications written in it are straight down garbage.
