I talked to the PM from the Sun Download Center today and they understand that the lack of wget access is a major issue.
It appears as though it was never actually a feature in the old system, which is why it was not part of the new system. They have added it to their list of fixes as a high priority, but since they are still in the process of migrating all the products from the old system to the new one, they do not have an ETA as to when it might get intgerated.
