Hi,

FYI, I don't believe we've used call-out boxes to announce project work
or project participation so far. Email to opensolaris-announce has been
used which scrolls on the front page. Is there a reason email to
opensolaris-announce is not a good idea here?

I'm not necessarily against doing this, but before doing it, I would
like us to discuss where we're heading if we do this and figure out
general parameters and guidelines.

Are we going to let any projects announce anything this way? Are we
going to announce every time any company joins a project (we did not do
this for Intel and I believe we have some storage companies involved in
storage projects)? What is the time-frame that a box would remain on
the front page for this kind of announcement? Etc.

I just want us to think this through, and if we do it, I'd like the
editorial board to outline guidelines to be followed so that what we're
establishing is clear.

Thanks.

Bonnie
