We had a discussion in Advocacy about the news page, and I proposed that it be a community-maintained effort: http://opensolaris.org/jive/message.jspa?messageID=141356&tstart=0 We also opened a news-discuss list to discuss news articles and placements on the news page: http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/news-discuss I realize this doesn't involve the front page of the site, but at least it's an attempt to have the community involved in maintaining the site's main news page.
