If I understand correctly, the wiki, main site, blog, ask site, forum,
extensions, templates, etc... are all standardized on CC-BY-SA 3.0
(and most userguides are CC-BY-SA-compatible), however the help wiki
is LGPLv3, so it's only directly compatible with the code of
LibreOffice.

Does the help wiki need to be LGPLv3 because of the way it's combined
with the binaries we ship, or is the license merely a vestige of its
origins?

If we were able to make the online help available under the same
license as the rest of our non-code content, that could allow much
greater sharing of information between sites. For example, on the Ask
site user 'JohnSUN' provides some very detailed images in his answers
that could be beneficial to include in our documentation:
