Require with the 837 - NO The 275 is issued in response to a 277, which is issued in response to the 837. The IGs make no mention of an unsolicited 275. You may get away with delaying claim processing for each claim until you get the 275 or paper response (don't forget that the 275 is not mandated yet), but it would result in a VERY angry provider base.
