Well it will resolve some of the issues - but you will be left with a console with incorrect time, incorrect relative pressure, etc etc - all the things which you would set if you did battery removal - so you still need, I would have thought, to set date etc as soon as you can after doing the power cycle - assuming it is the true usb lock up and not just a glitch (which usually resolves itself anyway). Of course, if no-one ever looks at the console it will not be much of an issue!!!
