You might try specifying device 39 in your rtl_433 command by using the 
option -R 39 instead of -G.
When I used the -G option, rtl_433 was using device type 09, which is also 
an Acurite 5-n-1 device model, but I found the output to be different from 
what the SDR driver expects. There is a thread further down that I started 
about this issue.

Just something else to try, relatively easily.
