by Metric i mean that my database and reports use mbar, knots, mm according 
to the weewx config file.
i don't know the difference between METRIC and METRICWX ?????

you are right, i better lower the max rain. i was thinking per day and not 
by archive period. i'm living on the equator and we can have 200mm my 
archive period is standard (5min) so i'll put 3cm to be safe...
