Hi Gary,

I've watched the unit on/off most of the day and the logs have been very
quiet. Starting from scratch was an easy choice in the end. Plus following
the setup.py really wasn't that hard. The footprint of nginx is obviously
far smaller than Apache. So yep, another easy choice.

re: the SD card. That makes sense. I'm running a Sandisk Ultra 32gb class
10 card. I noticed in the wiki (somewhere) that the Sandisks are
recommended. I'm presuming you're Australian based Gary?

Re: the ramdisk. geezzz mate. you're taking me way back to my old Amiga
days when I used to run a ramdisk! such a long time ago! :-)

Another quick note of thanks. I love niche little communities like this!
People helping each other for our love of 'weather watching / recording /
analysing' etc. I've been meaning to do it for years and finally got around
to purchasing the Vantage pro. You only live once. :-) ( here's my live
station
: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IBACCHUS5
)

Now the next steps which is to

- Work out how to back up the SD card ( on a mac )
- Copy the sqlite database to my NAS
- I'm thinking about running mysql instead of sqllite (but thought
initially, get the weewx running in a stable fashion, and then move across).

Plus do all the same again for my in-laws! <hahaha!> With completing a
copy of the SD card, it should be a matter of updating a few config items
and away we go!

Take care mate.
Benjamin
