Not that I need to apologize for voting for Bush, because I have never
voted Republican for any office in my entire life, but he said exactly
what I and presumably many others have been thinking about the whole
damn government. If people want to apologize, that's fine, but I can
understand how you can't predict the future of an 8-year administration
when you vote. I don't hold it against people that they voted for
Bush.  Beyond the apology we really need to step back and look t the
big picture and not accept the status quo.  Exactly what he said is
wrong is exactly what I think is wrong, almost verbatim. I have been
fearing for the future of this country for a long time.  When my nephew
was born in 2003 I was worried about the world he was inheriting, but
then I thought maybe a new generation can give us a fresh start and
more optimism.

Sorry this isn't funny, but I've been so frustrated for so long I can't
take it anymore.  I realized how completely different W's and my values
are, and I told my father that I don't want him representing me.  He
said he doesn't represent you.  I looked at him like he was out of his
mind.  Of course he represents me!  We have a representative
government!  He is the symbol of the United States when he visits other
countries!  Gene and I may differ on many issues, but our mutual hatred
of Bush is what keeps me coming back to the chat, especially--the
column more just for a laugh.
