he says, it's really just the hypnotized people who are providing the

It's the predictability.

You probably saw Flip Orley at the Improv in DC.  It's just funny to
see people manipulated into odd, uninhibited, uncharacteristic
behavior.  If I went up there, and he told me I was the world's
greatest disco dancer, you guys would never stop laughing for the rest
of your lives.  No chance I go up there!
