We have a very small family; so four people will come from MN and me from DC. And who knows who else they are inviting who will have to travel.

Plus, neither of them ever sent out a semi-official "Ok wedding party, here is the date".  We found out in kind-of off-hand remarks.

Do you look good in pale blue?  Are you ok to wear heels?  You're all set.

As a follow-up, my brother sent me a long e-mail explaining the whole situation, and he is actually being quite reasonable, and he's perfectly okay if I arrive the day of the wedding and skip the rehearsal (no clue how the bride feels about that.)

As Denver is pretty much my favorite place in the country, I will be
glad to play the role of Diane. That I'm a guy and not related to the
bride or groom should be of no consequence.

Still, a Thursday wedding is unusual, and it's not considerate to
anybody outside of the Denver/CO Springs area who has to fly or take
the train. Did they think of that, or are you one of the few who have
to travel?

THURSDAY? In Denver? Which means everyone coming from out of town
has to take a minimum of two days off? The Thursday before Memorial
Day weekend? And I'm in the wedding party, so theoretically I'll
have to arrive there on Wednesday; and use 30% of my annual leave to
go to this?

to rent the reception site they want.)
