I am in the suburbs and don't flush pee either... It just seems like such a waste (ohhh that's kinda funny... laughing at my own jokes again). I used to compost but my pile got too big and I wasn't managing it well.
I am soooo NOT granola but I don't mind other labels... UU, Liberal, democrat, breastfeeding proponent, natural birth advocate, MOM...

That's actually the way some of us do it in the city, too.  I'm in DC and we do the brown/yellow thing at our house.  Especially during a rainstorm, since the overflow goes straight into the Anacostia.  If you put the lid of the toilet down it's really not that big a deal.
 
We also compost and have a vegetarian kitchen, so I suppose you could call us granola.  It always feels like a write-off of my personality when that happens, though, like I'm being summed up by one aspect of my personality.
