A Romanian woman is using a hair dryer to keep her
sick mother warm after they had their heating cut off.
Their apartment was disconnected from the heating
system because they could not pay the bills. Elvira Itcu,
40, who takes care of her bed-bound mother, told the
Evenimentul Zilei newspaper: "I am worried finding mother
frozen to death. I keep moving her to get her warm but
she can't. So I put this hair dryer on her body from time
to time."
Army bomb disposal experts have blown up a box stuffed
full of used tampons in New Zealand. Police were called
after the suspect package was left outside a dairy in
Woodville, North Island. The area was cordoned off and
nearby houses evacuated while army bomb disposal
experts were called to the scene. A woman will appear
in court on January 14 charged with making a false
allegation, reports The New Zealand Herald.
A telephone company changed hundreds of residents
phone numbers but forgot to tell anyone. Managers at
the district phone exchange in India didn't even tell
operators about the alterations. They have apologised
to residents and promised to phone them all individually
to give them their new number.
Army officers have arrested an Osama Bin Laden puppet
during New Year celebrations in Colombia. The puppet
formed part of a traditional festival at La Calera. Revellers
set fire to puppets of celebrities to see in the New Year.
Army officers said the bin Laden puppet's military dress
was "suspicious". They also wanted to check if the plastic
gun it was carrying could cause any harm. After being
taken to the army base and checked over, the puppet was
handed back to event promoter Jos� Lopez.

Root Directory
The root directory is the lowest point of your folder structure.
It's actually your C:/ drive, without any folders. It's known as
the root, because if you liken the folder structure to a tree
(called a folder tree or directory tree) then you'll kind of get
the picture. The root is the base of the rest of the tree. Except
this tree hangs upside down, which is confusing.
Newbies can also do wonderful things with their PC, and
