A father and son team of Merseyside police officers have
arrested a father and son on their first patrol together. They
arrested the pair for allegedly possessing offensive weapons
and public order offences. PC Paul Sephton and his father
Sergeant Chris Sephton are based at the Huyton South
police station. Paul sais: "It was the funniest thing. I couldn't
believe it." Chris, an acting sergeant, says of their partnership:
"We haven't had too much stick and nobody has a problem
with it."
New York Police say drug dealers are trying to cash in on
the September 11 attacks after seizing heroin branded with
the Twin Towers. Officers have found 91 bags of the drug
bearing a picture of the skyscrapers. They also found a
stamp used to mark the bags and more than 1,000 empty,
unstamped bags.
A restaurant owner in France stuffed an apprentice female
cook in a tumble dryer and switched it on. The man who runs
a restaurant called Montbrison in the Loire valley got a six
month suspended jail sentence and a fine. He was found
guilty of armed violence and abusing and humiliating an
employee. He said she'd been careless. A tribunal in
Montbrison fined him 459 euros (around �290) and told
him to pay an additional 1,219 euros (around �780) to
the cook. A local court bulletin quotes the apprentice as
saying: "Each time the dryer's drum turned, I fell and was
hurt pretty badly."
