The compiler is one thing, the platform is another.
It should not very hard to make phApi compile under MinGW, just a few #ifdef to cleanup

Anyway, talking about phapi, is that going to be a project/library on
its own? If so, this is one piece we could start packaging as a stand
alone lib (and removing from the main repo).

phApi is already a library on its own. We are thinking about changing the repo organization (with a third party libs directory).
