Ok, I'm a bit late, i apologize for this. Anyway, below is the summary of all answers we received through the mailing list. They are sorted by number of occurrences.

* audio conference : 7
* video conference : 7
* Recording : 4
* Plug-in system : 2
* jabber support : 2
* multi protocols support : 2
* API
* Scripting support
* Configuration file loading
* IPv6 support
* skin support
* ICE (TUN, TURN) and UPNP all for NAT
* Be able to play a custom ring song to the caller
* Custom ring tone
* Ability to lock the softphone
* Bot system with scripting language
* Audio smileys with webpage for users to share them
* Replace ffmpeg with ogg theora

The most interesting ideas will be integrated in the WengoPhone NG's roadmap.
I must say everyone made very good suggestions, and i'd like to thank you all very much for this. From the summary above, we can see that there is a need for :
* conferencing.
* recording.
* jabber and multi protocols support.
* a plugin system.

IMHO, all other suggestions seems to be very interesting too and i think they would definitely improve WengoPhone NG.

I think that we should setup one Wiki page for each of this suggestion. A typical page would have the following layout :

= Title (Name of the idea) =

== Synopsis ==

== Short description ==

== Longer explanation ==

=== Graphical mockup (if apropriate) ===

=== Design document ===

== Code ==

== Miscelanelous information ==

or anything else you may find more appropriate (we could base such a template on Trac's hacks pages, like this one : http://trac-hacks.swapoff.org/wiki/PollMacro).

We could have a playground in our Wiki dedicated to these pages, that is a page that references all suggestions. Going on with the Trac's hacks analogy, it could be something along the line of this page : http://trac-hacks.swapoff.org/wiki/WikiStart#Hacks . Any suggestion that would get enough attention to have working code that integrates well with WengoPhone NG would then be integrated into the main development branch. In the meantime, maintainers of a given suggestion could provide a patch that applies to a given subversion branch.

I invite you to tell the list what you think about all this. If enough people agree with this idea, we'll start working on it ASAP, and we'll provide interested people write access to the Wiki so that they can start working on it too.

Thank you very much to all for your feedback.

All the best,
--
Julien Gilli
