Haven't had much time to look through the source. I do agree with you
though. Perhaps using a higher level language would be a good idea. C#
is particularly nice, but then you depend on the .net runtime. I have
developed gtk apps in both C as well as C#. Perhaps using the gtkmm
bindings would be a nice middle ground. I've been coding mostly in C++
these days anyway...

In any case, I'd look into things a bit more after the holidays. Best
