I can also suggest that you look at the DBUS support project.

IMHO, one of the good ways way to reuse the core wengophone code is to code
presentations through a DBUS binding.

This way, presentation bindings could all use the same DBUS engine.

There is already a small working demo in python.

It should not be too hard I guess to use the C-DBUS binding to create a GTK
software.

Ps: just know that this is work in progress, and that the DBUS bindings will
only be stable in a few months.

Just a random thought about this: if looking at repository you will
discover that the code base has  to be mostly rewritten (not unlikely,
given that all efforts focused on the Qt interface), I'd like to
suggest an higher level language for the implementation, my personal
choice being python.
