Hi Dave I'm sorry I did not cc the list om my first answer.
I am afraid I need a little help: I have downloaded the 'official' release which identifies itself as '2.1 rev 11131 - 200505015161949' I deleted my old ~/.wengophone directory and configured it from scratch. It registers OK with my Asterisk. When I try to configure the audio devices, I'm presented with only two option for each device, both of them ALSA: default and plughw. How can I know - or force - that I use PortAudio? When I try to connect to my time service on Asterisk Wireshark shows that the connection is established Ok and that the time announcement are sent to me. When the call terminates there are a bunch of warnings: (warn) 16:16:57 snd_pcm_t* alsa_open(int, unsigned int, int): cannot set sample format: Invalid argument (warn) 16:16:57 void alsa_play_file(const char*, int*): can't open alsa device I don't know if you can use this to much. It tells me that Wengophone somehow tries to use Alsa anyhow. The next thing I'll try - aprt from what you may suggest - is to have udev assign device names so that my ICH5 card becomes the first, thus being the default. This may take a day or two as I'm totally (well almost) ignorant with respect to udev. Kind regards, Bent BTW How many codecs do Wengophone actually use? I have sent ILBC and Speex to the bottom of the list and Ulaw and Alaw to the top - since Wireshark can only decode Ulaw and Alaw - but Wengophone always uses ILBC. My Asterisk does not know Speex. _______________________________________________ Wengophone-devel mailing list [email protected] http://dev.openwengo.com/mailman/listinfo/wengophone-devel
