Yes, it's nice. /De plus/, it has the same meaning (but plural) in Italian.

Anyway, it's true that in English it could sound a bit strange: "conditionally released from jail; pledge or promise made by a prisoner that he will obey the terms of his release". What English native speakers think about it?
