Follow-up Comment #4, bug #9191 (project wesnoth):

Note that, even before, the other leader action causes an update of the
sidebar about him and also that any mouse movement still cause update, so you
can follow other units.

Anyway, the current fix just use the same highlight as your move your mouse
on a hex, which indeed is maybe a problem with fog (but not for shroud).
Anyway I also notice that it causes a small annoying change of the
highlighted hex when you do recruit with context-menu.
So for the moment, I will switch back to the suggested minimum fix of what
it's surely incorrect:
update the sidebar only if the new recruited unit is under your mouse.

I am still not sure about the general behavior and need to discuss with other
devs, but you already have good points about at least what some people may
want. We need thinking about this because the best solution is to allow the 2
methods of watching.

A idea is maybe to always display what is under your mouse, except if you let
your pointer on the sidebar which then will be considered as "free" and will
display info about the acting unit. A small problem will be some unwanted
tooltips. But there is always space without tooltips (and don't leave the
"end turn" button is perfect for this).

We can maybe also clean the code about the current "clicked hex" selection
(which act as a fall back if no hex is under the mouse) and use it properly
during the enemy turn to watch a specific unit, even if the screen scroll.

PS: Thanks for your comments, feel free to criticize, it's useful, specially
if, like here, you detail and defend your point of view. Btw, you may also
want to register to gna. For my part, if I know that a bug comes from a
serious and responsive submitter (again like you seems to be), I may give
more attention to it and more easily ask infos and suggestions about the way
how fix it. And it's also a little annoying to don't know for sure if I
reply to 1 or 3 persons.
