Follow-up Comment #2, bug #9288 (project wesnoth):
Playing against elves, you move on a wose, move your mouse elsewhere (on
forest) (or the map scrolls while your opponent plays), don't pay attention
to the game for a while, look at the screen and wonder why you see the info
for a "supposed" hidden enemy wose in a forest (not really there), go "you're
not supposed to see the info for a hidden unit", and then look again.
In short, user error.
Reconsidering, I suppose always showing the said feedback _can be_ better
than not doing so. It's a matter of taste which alternative is potentially
more confusing. So, you can - maybe - mark this report invalid. But think
about the alternative below before doing so.

The other way would be to only show the symbol for units that are _actually
hidden_ at the moment. This would mean only showing the symbol for woses when
they're _in_ the forest. This would deny this information from enemies, but it
wouldn't be a real problem IMO. The information would be visible for observers
on the woses' turn, and for players in the same team as the
wose-in-the-forest.
One more thing: I have _not_ checked, how the symbol is shown for units with
nightstalk. For them, it's a bit more simple - regardless of terrain, they
are, at night, _either_ hidden, _or_ not (in which case they're within enemy
ZoC). For these, I suppose the hidden symbol should not be shown in the
latter case.
(It doesn't really matter if the symbol is shown if you select, at night, a
visible shadow unit (i.e. within your ZoC) and move your mouse away. I
suppose it _should_ currently be shown, following the behaviour observed with
the woses.)

I don't know if alink's recent commits towards updating the sidebar info have
the potential to affect this, other than making the user have more deliberate
control over what unit's information is shown at any one time.
