Follow-up Comment #1, bug #9380 (project wesnoth):
There's an earlier report of this as bug #6332.
The possible cause, IIUC, was that you've been transferred _hosting_ of the
game, but your game still waits for an acknowledgment from the (original)
host that the game has ended, (which naturally never gets sent to you,) or
something similar.
