Details:
Currently, there is no visual indication that a side has been :droid'ed, that
is, given for the AI to play. This has two problems:
- If you do the :droid'ing on someone else's turn, you don't get a
confirmation of your command taking effect.
- In multiplayer, it would be appropriate to notify also the other players
that they are now playing against an AI (or in case of "undroiding", against
a human instead of an AI).
My suggestion for the server messages (droiding and undroiding) would be the
following:
<server> Side N has been set under AI control
<server> Side N has been set under human control
The server messages would also have one auxiliary benefit:
- I was informed in bug #9663 that the way to "undroid" is not a separate
command ":undroid N" (a command which doesn't exist), but to repeat the
":droid N" command.
- This is not at all an obvious way, but at least it would be slightly more
probable to try it, if you had received a visual confirmation that your side
has been :droid'ed.
(- I wouldn't mind if there was a separate ":undroid N" command, that would
only work when the side had been under "droided" control previously. For
this, see bug #9676.)
