Follow-up Comment #1:

It's possible to cheat by changing the unit stats but soon the other players
get errors due to the cheating. This is what happened in this case as well.
This is by design and won't be fixed. (Note since Wesnoth is opensource it's
always possible to cheat if really wanted.)
