Details:
Since bug #9617 got closed, I am refiling this.
When the map (including the fadeout area) completely fits (tested by width)
on the screen, 2 pixels (or 1, hard to tell) less screen real estate is
reserved for the map than would be ideal.
The result of this is that the map remains scrollable (by 2 pixels), when it
doesn't need to. This produces an unnecessary glitch when you move the mouse
in this direction, as the entire map is re-adjusted by 2 pixels.
I see two possible solutions:
1) Allot the area correctly, which would disable scrolling completely (in
that direction, i.e. either horizontally or vertically). This is the easier
solution.
2) Or, allow scrolling far beyond visible map border, _allowing the user to
*center* the view on any real map *hex* i.e. a hex which has coordinates
defined for it._ This is a more involved user interface suggestion, that may
or may not be desirable, and probably needs to be tested / discussed to see
if it's useful (together with e.g. the effects of zooming).
