Follow-up Comment #8:
Changed title, as the leader-in-limbo problem has been solved.
This seems to be exposing a pre-0existing bug in the save-load code --
continuing from the linger mode to the nexr scenario works OK, loading the
linger-mode save doesn't.
I don't understand it yet.
