Follow-up Comment #1, bug #11038 (project wesnoth):
this is supposed to have been changed in SVN to have them turned randomly...
I could possibly change them to turn "away from the leader"
or just have them turn SE if you want.
please answer here if you wish something else while I'm in that code
my dev computer is dead and I won't buy a replacement until thursday, so
probably no wesnoth work from me until next week at best.
