Very strange. I just double-checked here and it reproduceably failes. I used
the following commands:
$ tar xfj wesnoth-1.4.tar.bz2
$ cd wesnoth-1.4
$ ./configure
$ cd po/
$ make update-po
Maybe we are using different versions of gettext or other software packages?
I am running Kubuntu 7.10 (with all available updates installed). gettext is
version 0.16.1-2ubuntu3. What distro are you using?
