Details:

The first few moves in the tutorial are highly constrained, so the dialogue
is predictable. However, once you reach the point where Delfador tells you to
recruit, it's possible to attack the quintain directly instead without
recruiting (see attached replay, or test for yourself). If you do so, the
scripted dialogue ceases to match the action - the recruits' dialogue is
spoken by your main character instead, and the main character may address the
quintain after it dies. 

The easy fix is just to force the player to recruit rather than allowing them
to proceed without recruiting. Otherwise all of the dialogue after that point
might have to be rescripted.
