Follow-up Comment #1:
This is a known bug, especially visible in the manual. It is due to our
placing the glyphs by hand without much consideration to their skew. Once the
conversion to Pango is achieved, the situation should be much improved as it
knows how to properly flow text, even in presence of style changes (or at
least it is supposed to). Because of the string/feature freeze, this won't
happen before the 1.9/1.10 development cycle though.
