Follow-up Comment #4, bug #17412 (project wesnoth):

If you want to be able to enable debug mode in multiplayer mode without
recompiling wesnoth, then other players will be able to do it too. Note that
typing :debug is not enough, you have to start with -d, so the threshold is
already high enough to avoid "casual cheaters".

No idea whether a warning is a good idea. If there is one, people will start
to assume that, if the warning doesn't show up, then nobody is using debug
mode during a game (which is an obviously wrong assumption).

So we are still on square one: do we want people to be able to enable debug
mode in multiplayer or not?
