basically, this seems to be an upstream problem and an upstream problem that
was fixed upstream...
since the fix was applied both to sdl 1.2 and sdl 1.3 I don't think adding a
workaround in wesnoth is a good idea, let's just let the fix trickle down in
distros
Thx for the precise diagnostic, the upstream bug report etc etc... the fix
isn't in wesnoth but it's still a good report and follow through
