Update of bug #16089 (project wesnoth):
Category: Bug => Feature Request
Assigned to: None => anonymissimus
_______________________________________________________
Follow-up Comment #3:
This is the way the feature was intended to work from the beginning and I was
of course aware of these edge cases when it was implemented. Search the old
irc logs where it was discussed if you care to read more about it. Consider
that units are arbitrarily large WML structures and there is also a variables
subcontainer of arbitrary size.
As for documentation, the wiki is documented as follows:
unit: inside an event, this is the unit at $x1,$y1
second_unit: inside an event, this is the unit at $x2,$y2
So although you misunderstood what it was doing the documentation is
technically correct.
If it is your intention to remove lazy evaluation entirely, be aware that the
performance hit will be much worse for $this_unit (in every unit filter).
