Follow-up Comment #3:
I think the reason for this problem is that on the re-control-taking side 1
client we expect the temporary controller to send its init_side command due to
the fix for bug #16299. This does not happen obviously since the side was
already initialized and control is swapped directly again. So the side 1
client reinits the side after taking control again since it thinks it took the
side over without it having ever been initialized.
I'm unassigning since this is no special mistake of mine I think but a
structural problem, and I have no idea how to fix bug #16299 without
introducing this one atm...
