1. I've submitted patch #3208 to that end.
2-4. Submitted patch #3209.
5. Sounds like a good idea, but I'm not familiar with Wesnoth's deprecation
practices, so I'll not do that immediately, anyway.
I've attached a revised patch that only updates the [filter_vision] in the
SUF.
