This is a duplicate of bug #17807. Marking the older bug as the duplicate due
to lack of discussion there and because this one is more general.
Important points from other report:
Has existed since 1.9.4 (or earlier)
A workaround of resizing the window again after the dialog is dismissed is
mentioned.
