Follow-up Comment #4, bug #22068 (project wesnoth):

A workaround to use multiplayer scenario start saves is:

Load the scenario start save in SP, then load the resulting turn 1 save in
Multiplayer->Load Game

This worked in a local mp game for both Random Campaign (1 player, complete
playthrough.) and for The Great Quest (3 player - test of scenario 1, play
each player side, then kill leaders on p1's 2nd turn. Then applied workaround
to the 2nd scenario start save. Playing that and doing the same to move to
scenario 3 seems to produce a playable scenario with no glitches that I can
see. (though I'm not familar witht the in's and out's of TGQ.))
